This is a summary of the hospitalised patient's charter attached in annex to government written directives, issued under number 9522 dated 26 May 1955 concerning the rights of hospitalised patients.

 

general principles

1- The Archette centre for haemodialysis has been made accessible to everyone particularly those in need. It is adapted to the needs of the handicapped.
2- The centre guarantees the quality of treatment, care and reception of the patient and is mindful of needs for pain relief.
3- Information given to the patient is accessible and fair. The patient is involved in the therapeutic decision making process.
4- A medical act may not be carried out without the patient's free and enlightened consent.
5- The patient under dialysis may leave the establishment at any moment, except as set out by law, once he or she has been informed of any possible risks involved.
6- The patient under dialysis is treated with consideration, their beliefs, privacy and tranquillity respected.
7- The right to life is guaranteed to every patient under dialysis and information about his or her case whether of a personal, medical or social nature remains confidential.
8- The patient has the right to be informed of the content of his medical records by the doctor of his or her choice
9- The dialysis patient can give his or her opinion on the care and reception given and has the right to ask for damages for any wrongdoing he or she considers to have suffered.
